Overnight and during the day, Turkish-backed Azerbaijani forces continued offensive operations, including in the mountainous Mrav area in the north of Karabakh, south of Martuni and south of Shushi, the Armenian defense ministry spokesperson Artsrun Hovannisyan reported in his daily evening briefing.

There was continued artillery shelling against civilian areas throughout Artsakh, as well as in the Republic of Armenia: in the evening of November 2, one resident was killed and two others injured by shelling in the village of David Bek, near Kapan. Azerbaijani forces also continued to use white phosphorus munitions to set fires to Artsakh forests.

The United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights Michelle Bachelet issued a statement, warning that attacks on civilian areas “amount to war crimes.” Bachelet’s statement also referred to the video of two Armenians executed by Azerbaijani special forces in Hadrut on October 10.
