Karena Avedissian, Ph.D.

Karena Avedissian received her PhD from the University of Birmingham in 2015 for a thesis on social movements in the North Caucasus. Her research interests include the relationship between popular geopolitics and identity, human rights and security, and issues of governance, with a particular emphasis on Russia and Eurasia. She is based in Yerevan, Armenia.

Taline Papazian, Ph.D.

For the last ten years Taline Papazian has been working on the interaction between armed violence and political sovereignty, specialising on the South Caucasus, with a focus on Armenia. Her current research projects deal with historical and political aspects of this interaction regarding experiences of physical violence and political sovereignty among Armenians and Jews in the 19th and 20th centuries.

Rober Koptas

Rober Koptas is editor-in-chief of the Aras Publishing House, co-founded in 1993 by Hrant Dink, Mkrtich Margosyan and Yetvart Tovmasyan. Aras publications are bridges between the Armenian experience and the Turkish readership. He is the former editor of Istanbul-based Agos newspaper.

Nare Galstyan, Ph.D.

Nare Galstyan did her studies in the Sociology and Methodology of Social Research Department at the University of Milan.

Hrag Papazian, Ph.D.

Hrag Papazian received his Ph.D. from University of Oxford’s Anthropology Department.
